Summary: Ten year old Annemarie Johansen never thought she would have to be brave. But it is 1943, and something is happening. The Germans have invaded. And when a button shop closes, she and her family realize that something more is happening to the Jews. Annemarie must learn to be brave, even when she doesn't know what's going on.

My Review: I was slightly disappointed when I read this book 😕, but it really wasn't the book's fault. I had heard a lot of positive stuff about it, and was looking forward to reading a book like the Hiding Place. It is not at all like it. Just keep that in mind if, like me, you dive in with very high expectations. But apart from that the book was good! It is a good introduction for young readers to World War II, and the Nazis. A key theme I liked was that sometimes people don’t tell you everything, and it's too keep you safe. Overall it's a great read!
