Dust on sandals, and a Christ who remembers names.

Summary: A multi-season telling of the Gospels that lingers with fishermen, tax collectors, and the ordinary terror of being seen.

My Review: Television rarely has the patience for fishing nets and awkward silences. This does. It is not perfect history and it does not pretend to replace Scripture; it is a long campfire retelling with cameras. What works is the earth under it — hunger, debt, jokes that land soft. What to watch for: the temptation to let the show become your Bible. Keep the Book open on the table while you watch.

Concerns: Depicts illness, oppression, and spiritual confrontation; generally restrained.

Overall rating: 4 out of 5
